To inspire the local craft community to grow their industry through innovation and to unify the Namibian crafters as an industry under one umbrella to become globally competitive and to enable an upliftment of socio-economic standards in the community.

Objective 1

To design and implement successful marketing support initiatives for a selected range of products and targeted market segments

Objective 2

To improve the access, coverage, and impact of support services for artisans through new services and modes of delivery

Objective 3

To facilitate closer interaction (exchange, coordination, and cooperation) among industry stakeholders and provide strategic guidance to the sustainable development of Namibia’s handicraft industry.

The NCDI will achieve this by focusing on the three pillars or strategic themes. The strategic themes are a synthesis of the research and stakeholder engagement in 2015 which were revisited with key stakeholders in the craft sector in 2022. The purpose and direction that the NCDI should take were drawn from the outcomes. They broadly encompass the objectives from the former strategy and aim to provide services and support that can help drive the sector forward.
